A Polycom CX5000. Very handy for meetings when team members are in different locations. As soon as we deploy Lync Server we’ll have full integration with Microsoft Live Meeting to facilitate our group chats and brainstorming sessions.
Hands down, my iPad. With a few apps and mobile me (now, iCloud), I can run my business on the go without being weighed down by a laptop. The iPad allowed me to “go green” with paperless transactions.
My computer! I use it for everything! Webcam chat, twitter, facebook, phone calls, email, games. It is wonderful that technology has come so far to be able to communicate with people all over the world!!
Definitely my Blackberry Torch 9800. Whether it be blogging from the WordPress app for the blog I work for, writing rhymes on the memopad while using the media player for instrumentals, or contacting friends, family through BBM, Text, or Twitter. My Torch keeps me connected everywhere with everything just a few seconds away at the tip of my fingers. My inspiration comes when I plug my Beats by Dr. Dre headphones in and I start my usual commute to work. Connected with my Playbook it’s the ultimate on-the-go get inspiration anywhere experience.
It’s got to be my phone. While emails, data, IM and everything else are definitely lifesaving additions, nothing beats the direct contact of a phone call.
Simple, email. It’s the fastest, and easiest way to get input on problems, brainstorm with team members, get a message out to multiple offices, notify employee’s their pay is being deposited and a whole lot more, not to mention, keep track of it all.
The most important piece of communication technology I own is my laptop. I use it for keeping in touch with family and friends.
Definately the blackberry. Allows me to keep in touch on the road, access files and information in a small handy item.
Across all the different devices that we use, Dropbox is one piece of communication technology that I couldn’t live without. Accessible on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers, it’s the easiest way to share information with others and yourself!
The most important device for me is my BlackBerry Bold, I don’t have an office so without my Blackberry I would not have instant access to my email, BBM Contacts and availability for people to get a hold of me when computer issues happen. With out it I would be in the dark.
Definitely my Blackberry!! My favourite part is that I can always update my work Facebook and twitter accounts with pictures and status’ so all the different organizations we’re affiliated with and that support us can know what’s going on! I also love how I am able to receive and send out important emails when I’m taking a day off or just not around my work computer! Not to mention the calendar application which at times, saves my {work} life!!
Im gunna have to say my laptop, it helps with everything, easy to access my emails do video calls, all that stuff.
Interesting question! I had to think about this for a minute. And after a tug of war between my BlackBerry and my laptop…the laptop won by whisker…a very big whisker! Basically, when my BlackBerry can run an accounting software like my laptop than it might be more valuable to me.
The best piece of communication technique I have is a tie. Between a iPod touch, and blackberry torch! The torch works perfect but since ios5 has came out its made the iPod easy to use. With a torch 9810 it’d create the ease of access to networks better and easier with the upgrade. I do love my blackberry!
I would have to say my Ipad2, due to mobile applications such as Skype, Twitter and Facebook. It allows me to keep in touch with friends and family. It also allows me to timely answer patient questions via the mail application. It’s a huge time saver and easy to use.
definitely my blackberry…the instant web browsing, continuous communication, versatility, etc. have made doing business much easier.
By far, the best piece of communication tech is my smartphone, between phone/conference calls, SMS, email, IM, Skype/VOIP calls, video chat and video conference calls, it’s my most used device for communication bar none…
I believe the best communication tool for a business is a BlackBerry. You can continue to communicate worldwide, even abroad with WiFi and BBM without incurring extra charges, as well as easily handle majority of the office communications with email and the variety if IM clients.
The ability to communicate without being stuck at your desk has to be by far the greatest communications tool for a business!
I could not live without my iPhone. For effective communication, one must have have their email, twitter, and texting at their fingertips. I work remotely from BC and my office is in Manitoba. I’m a Rogers business client and I could not have continued to do my job so effectively if I didn’t have my iPhone as a communication tool.
iPhone and my samsung galaxy tab would have to make two of the best communication devices used by me.
My most indispensable piece of tech is my BlackBerry Bold 9700. I get my emails right away, look information up online, update my website, stay in contact via Facebook, Twitter, IM tools and a whole lot more. All that and still make phone calls as well.
My asus transformer tablet has been the best communications tech I’ve used. It has replaced my laptop for nearly all my work functions since I’m always on the go. It’s easy to communicate with my friends, and business colleagues due to the many social messenger apps available. Although it does not have bbm.
It would have to be my Blackberry as it’s my way of keeping in touch with clients anywhere I go! I believe the reason why I am so successful is because I am so easily accessible to my clients.
It’s gotta be my iPhone currently. Since I take it with me everywhere I go, I communicate daily through it! What else do I use more?!
My iPad. I can do pretty much anything with it, plus play games when the meetings get boring…
With less than a year under my belt my small business has been expanded mostly by referrals, but utilizting technology channels such as social media has helped spread the word. I purchased a used blackberry to carry my calendar with me and check on emails etc. more expediently. In the future I hope to expand my business WW through web based interactions such as Skype and webcam readings.
Right now mostly social media outlets are free web-based advertising sites help our business. We have been researching expanding website capability including flash media and a more interactive site to expand our clients.

The added benefit is the built in GPS which acts as my navigator if I ever get lost.
Blackberry 9780
My blackberry 9780 is an essential communications technology tool I use everyday for receiving my push emails, bbm messages, text messages or just using my wordpress app for publishing blogs to my website. My most important piece of technology is my mobile internet connection. It allows all of my devices to work together easily and efficiently. It’s my phone I can carry it everywhere and its my Laptop lite with telephone capabilities.
My trusty Yaesu 857 Transceiver. When the hydro is out, when cell systems are down, when ISP’s are down. all I need is 12volts and I can talk around the world. It does happen..it’s amazing how much we rely on being connect. When I combine that little radio with my laptop i can do anything, email, sms,Aprs, tracking,Search and rescue. It may not be the newest tech but it is the most reliable when the going gets tough.
A BlackBerry would have to be the most essential because it provides on-the-go access to information, email, and documents. How a BlackBerry differs from other devices is its iconic keyboard that provides speed and accuracy when replying to emails, typing, etc.
Would have to say my company issued Dell laptop is my most important piece of technology for communications. It may sound a bit boring but without it I would be hooped. Besides accessing corporate intranet sites, for stats, pricing, policies, I have realtime email/messenger access to coworkers. As well it enables VPN access to numerous database information, vital for customer info etc.
I don’t know how I could live without my laptop. I use it for EVERY thing at work including presentations, communication and research. If I didn’t have my laptop, I wouldn’t have a business.
I could not live without my Blackberry. I am always on the go and the only way any of my co-workers or clients will ever reach me is through my Blackberry, whether through email, text or calling!
I’m a real estate agent and wherever I go my office needs to be with me. The lenovo thinkpad x220 tablet tethered to my galaxy s allows me to stay connected. The ability to use it as a laptop or tablet gives me the versatility to write, email, fax and sign offers. The x220t has a multitouch screen and a stylus allowing my clients to sign any paperwork. This also allows me to go paperless and further reducing my carbon footprint.
My iPhone 4s is the greatest piece of technology I own and out there period. Not only because it does so much like Siri and FaceTime but its the smartest most reliable technology product I own. My Blackberry Curve, it simply connects me to my friends from almost all over the world through the Blackberry Messaging for a cheap price, no extra charges for both sides, which is awesome. Also the apps like twitter, it informs me about what’s going on around me or sometimes from my homeland. Since I got it I rarely use the computer at home. Everything I need is simply on one device!
My most important piece of technology is of course my BlackBerry 9800 (which could use an upgrade BTW ;) lol). It is important because it allows me to be connected 24/7 to both my family and friends and also to the office and all of my clients. I use it as my watch, my planner, my e-mail client, my phone, my BBM messenger, check the weather, the news, facebook and twitter, enter this contest lol, research, check scores, and more! Of course anytime I run into an issue I can use it to check Rogers Redboard Biz! ;)

I can’t do without my blackberry and its BBM feature. being able to instantly get a hold of team members at an affordable price makes it invaluable.
a key piece of our business is Microsoft’s OCS product. Take MSN and then give it a power suit and classy shoes and you’ve got OCS. It helps us keep an audit trail of conversations while delivering instant communications to our far flung employees
I use the internet for inspiration. From selecting a paint colour to learning about my competition and better ways to drive new business. The internet is a free portal to everything you need to know to be successful.
I usually go to the television for inspiration. There’s so many programs about pretty much everything that if there’s something your passionate about you can view in detail what experts do and learn from it.
I’m just starting to get into the cell phone field and realize all that smart phones have to offer to improve one’s business. I think most business still underestimate the value, potential and future in smart phones and the need to adjust your business to accept such a vastly growing technology. Computers have always been a huge key part of my life.
My laptop is the heart and soul of my business. I would not be able to advertise and present information to my clients without it
My television. I get most of my ideas and inspiration for my business from my television.
My Xperia Arc has become my goto communication device for my business. Sony Ericsson has integrated mostly all the things I need to communicate seamlessly, makes things much easier than needing 5-10 different applications.
Communications technology has greatly improved the field of construction management. It has allowed out field site supervisors to interact and reply in real time with our head office and more directly meet the clients needs. Applications on our devices, such as dropbox and gmail have provided a direct link to resources no matter where we may be in the field. Mobile tech. Has forever changed the way I work and I could not imagine going without it in the future.

My Blackberry is the best piece of communication technology that I own. It allows clients to stay contact me regardless of where I am in the world and allows me to communicate with them even when I am not physically in the office.
I have just received an IPAD from work and must say of all new technology – I would say this device is the most practical device for small business to date.
Not only can you use the IPAD as a notebook, you can log in to your computer at work and check email – update files, you can use it as a calculator, search the net, save files into PDF format and view them on the PAD. (of course this is just a few of the things I have discovered and I have had the IPAD for about 3 weeks)
Definitely has to be my blackberry. It’s like having my office in the palm of my hand. I can send and receive emails, make calls, update my social media accounts, bbm my buddies, play games when I’m killing time, schedule meetings. Love it!
Being a small Company my best tool is my cell phone
Congrats Truly!
